Playing at Land Based Casinos

Before the advent of the online casino, players from around the world would assemble at these brick-and-mortar casinos to enjoy their games of chance. These casinos were a little more restricting than the online casinos, because players did not have the flexibility of being able to play their favorite games from the comfort of their homes. Of course, these casinos had their own advantages, and it is because of these land-based casinos that the gambling industry developed so much.
The games themselves in brick-and-mortar casinos are a bit different. While the general rules are the same, in an online casino, the game is much faster, and the players have more access to tools to help them optimize their games. On the other hand, in a land based casino, the player has the advantage of being in the midst of other people, and especially in a game like poker, where player’s reactions play a large role, this is a big advantage.
In land based casinos, the games are generally divided into three major categories based on the way they are played. Though these categories exist in the online casino as well, the playing areas are a little more clear-cut in the brick-and-mortar casinos where players have to physically move from one place to the other to play different types of games. The different categories are: Table Games, Electronic Game Machines and Random Number Games. Here is a brief overview of these different kinds of games.
Table Games: Table games, as the name suggests, are those games that are played on a table. Live croupiers or dealers who operate these games are generally the ones who control the pace of the game. Table games can be roughly divided into three kinds: Cards, Dice and Random Numbers.
Card Games: Card Games at online casinos are not all the same, and their rules and regulations vary according to the game played. Some examples of card games that are commonly played at casinos are Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud Poker, Casino Hold’em, Faro, Four Card Poker, Texas Hold’em Poker, Omaha, Poker, and Red Dog. Some of the less common games include Asian Stud, Australian Pontoon, Blackjack Switch, Chinese Poker, Teen Patti, Mambo Stud and Pyramid Poker.
Dice or Tile Games: This is another popular variety of table games that are found in land-based casinos. Dice and Tile games are used to describe games of chance that are played using a dice (like craps) or tiles (like Sic Bo). These games are very popular, especially in brick-and-mortar casinos in the US.
Random Number Table Games: These are purely games of chance that are played at land-based casinos (though the online casinos are also introducing these games). The most common of these games is of course, Roulette, but other games like Big Six Wheel and Chase Beezy are also popular.
Electronic Game Machine: These games are generally single player games that are played at specific machines that control the game. There is no actual dealer in these games, and the machine dictates the pace of the game. The most common of these games are the slot games, Video Poker, Video Terminal Lotteries and Pachinko.
Random Number Games: Unlike the random number table games, these games are more based on drawing numbers from a bag or a set of numbers. The most popular of these games are Keno and Bingo which are now played at many land-based casinos around the world.
Gaming machines, such as slot machines and pachinko, are usually played by one player at a time and do not require the involvement of casino employees to play. Random number games are based upon the selection of random numbers, either from a computerized random number generator or from other gaming equipment. Random number games may be played at a table, such as Roulette, or through the purchase of paper tickets or cards, such as Keno or Bingo.
